The Urolift® System is a minimally invasive procedure for treating BPH that involves inserting implants to push the prostate aside and make urinating easier.
Step 1: A scope is first inserted into the urethra to visualize the obstructed prostate
Step 2: Using the Urolift® Delivery Device System through the scope, the Urolift® implants are placed to move the prostate tissue out of the way and relieve the obstruction.
Step 3: After the implants are placed, the scope is removed and a urethral catheter may be placed
Patients are discharged the same day of their procedure.
1) You may develop overactive bladder symptoms or burning with urination in the weeks after the procedure. This resolves in the majority of patients within 10 days.
2) You may have a catheter after this procedure for 24 hours.
