Dr. Chalal received her Medical Degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 1982. Triple boarded in Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine, she has been practicing exclusively Radiation Oncology since 1990. Currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center since 2010, Dr. Chalal has been the Director of Radiation Oncology services at the former UHS and now Midlantic Prostate Cancer Center, located in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. Awarded Fellowship in the American College of Radiation Oncology in 2016, Dr. Chalal has been recognized for her contributions to her field and that professional organization.
Recruited by Fox Chase Cancer Center, Dr. Chalal had been in private practice, caring for patients with various types of malignancies. Her unique perspectives on the care of the cancer patient have made her popular amongst the residents and staff of FCCC's Radiation Department.
She previously held positions as Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at St Francis Medical Center's Regional Cancer Center,
Medical Director of Regional Radiation Oncology, P.A., and Vice President and Senior Partner at Radiology Affiliates of Central New Jersey, as well as Assistant Professor and Senior Instructor of Radiation Oncology at Hahnemann University Hospital.
Dr. Chalal has been published in peer-reviewed journals, has presented at conferences and programs, and served as a principal investigator of dlinical trials for a cooperative oncology group. She has served on the Investigational Review Board (IRB), Cancer Committees, and fund-raised for Oncology services. She is a member of multiple oncology professional societies.
Her goal is to provide state of the art Radiation Oncology services to all of her patients as well as to help them live happy, hopeful, and healthful lives during treatment and beyond.
