Dr. Yang graduated from Zhejiang Medical University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, China in 1997. He was trained as a urologist in China before moving to the United States in 2003. He completed his Ph.D. and post-doctoral training in the field of prostate cancer and androgen receptor. In 2015 he finished his pathology residency training at National Institutes of Health, followed by surgical pathology fellowship training at UCLA and genitourinary pathology fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Yang is a licensed physician in Pennsylvania and New York. His focus is genitourinary pathology. He has experience in working at both academic institutions and commercial labs.
