Education and Background

Dr. McKenna is a Radiation Oncologist at MidLantic Urology. He earned his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Dartmouth College, graduating A.B. cum laude in 1982.  He received his Medical Degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1988 and followed with an internship in medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1992.

He served as assistant professor of Radiation Oncology at Rutgers University School of Medicine for 19 years. In the years prior he served as assistant professor of Radiation Oncology at both University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine.

At the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, New Jersey Dr. McKenna served on the Radiation Safety Committee, the Cancer Committee (in which he chaired for two years), and was a Tumor Board Content Reviewer.

He has been repeatedly recognized as a top radiation oncologist by the following:

  • Castle Connolly (New York Metro area)
