Education and Background

Dr. Mark Hockenberry is a physician with Keystone Urology, a Division of MidLantic Urology. He has lived in the Mid-Atlantic region for nearly his entire life. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors from Princeton University and attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania where he met his wife, who grew up close by in York, Pennsylvania. He remained in Philadelphia to complete a Urology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.

Following residency, Dr. Hockenberry completed two prestigious fellowships in order to offer patients very highly specialized urologic care. At the University of Pennsylvania, a fellowship in advanced robotic surgery provided a large experience with cutting-edge minimally invasive robotic surgery techniques, especially in the management of prostate cancer. Additionally, he was awarded a fellowship to train under a preeminent microsurgeon and pioneer of male infertility and sexual dysfunction treatments at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Hockenberry has authored numerous publications and has presented his research at several national meetings throughout his training.

Now practicing in Lancaster, Dr. Hockenberry is the only fellowship-trained microsurgeon based in Central Pennsylvania specializing in male infertility with surgical expertise in complex vasectomy reversal and other microsurgical procedures. His additional specialty interests span low testosterone, men’s health, Peyronie’s disease, and erectile dysfunction including its treatment with penile implant surgery as well as robotic approaches for the treatment of prostate cancer.

Beyond these specialties however, Dr. Hockenberry’s practice extends across the entire breadth of general urology from prostate enlargement with voiding dysfunction to kidney stones. He is excited to provide these services to men and couples in the state with an emphasis on state-of-the-art techniques, individualized care, and sensitivity for these intimate issues in order to ensure the best possible experience and outcome for patients.

Dr. Hockenberry and his wife are thrilled to raise their three children in Lancaster. He enjoys time with his family, watching football, and cycling.
