A Look Back: Our Urology Advancements of 2025
December 2, 2025
By: Jon L. Mackler, Chief Executive Officer, MPA, FACHE

At the end of each year, I enjoy looking back and reflecting on successes and challenges. I look at what I have accomplished and where I hope to continue growing the following year.
As we approach the end of 2025, as a practice, we performed a “care audit” to see what we have accomplished from our own talent and resources, and areas we plan to grow next year. We want to share some of the best achievements with you and what they have done for our patients and community.
Our Care Audit: A Breakdown of Our Priorities of 2025
At MidLantic Urology, we’re always investing in the latest care options, equipment, talent, and diagnostic technologies. Here, we break our priorities down into three categories.
Leading the Way in Treatment
We have added two pioneering treatment services for our patients in 2025:
A new Interventional Radiology (IR) Center
MidLantic Urology opened our IR Center in Chesterbrook in June 2025 with a focus on offering minimally invasive treatments for common conditions, notably a novel treatment for enlarged prostate called prostatic artery embolization (PAE). With a small catheter puncture, this approach is designed to shrink enlarged prostate tissue by limiting its blood supply. During the procedure, our interventional radiologist injects microscopic particles into the prostatic arteries, which block blood flow to the tissue. Eventually, specialists at our IR Center will also perform embolization procedures to treat other common conditions such as uterine fibroids, varicoceles, and more. You can learn more about our IR Center here.
New PSMA PET/CT Scan equipment
PSMA stands for prostate-specific membrane antigen, which is a protein that acts as a cancer marker on prostate cells. In 2025, we installed the latest PET/CT imaging equipment right here at MidLantic Urology to track these antigens so our specialists can detect even small cancer growths and provide even more exact diagnoses and treatments. In particular, this scanning innovation enables doctors to detect recurring prostate cancer cells earlier, within and beyond the prostate if the cancer has spread, so we can offer more timely and confident patient treatment. Details about our PSMA PET/CT scan can be found here.
Hiring Amazing Talent
As the premier group of urologists in Pennsylvania, we strive to welcome all new patients. That requires actively seeking out and recruiting top talent so we have the capacity to do so. In 2025, we’re grateful to have brought these experts to our team of more than 100.
Pranav Parikh M.D.
Dr. Parikh combines an education in the biology of behavior and neurosurgery research with his medical degree, skills that help him excel as a urologist and urological surgeon. He specializes in advanced robotics, male reconstruction, prosthetics, tumors, and urethra reconstruction. Patients can see Dr. Parikh at our Masons Mill and Sellersville offices.
5 Advanced Practice Providers
MidLantic also has significantly bolstered our team of advanced practice providers (APPs). APPs are medically trained physician assistants and nurse practitioners who support physicians with complementary expertise and compassionate care. For example, our APPs can diagnose and treat illnesses as well as prescribe medications. APPs are an increasingly valued resource in medicine: In 2025, they represented 41% of the national provider workforce. In 2025, we welcomed the following:
- Isabella Hall, NP (nurse practitioner), at our Masons Mill, Plymouth Meeting, Abington, and Sellersville offices.
- Jean Pellegrino, CRNP (certified registered nurse practitioner), at our Masons Mill and Plymouth Meeting offices.
- Rachel Rambler, PA-C (certified physician assistant), at our Haverford Road (Bryan Mawr) office.
- Jesse Culp, FNP-C (certified family nurse practitioner), Shaina Samec, PA-C, and Benjamin Kurczewski, PA(physician assistant), at our Keystone Urology offices.

Educating and Supporting our Community
Our medical team lives in the community we serve, so we are familiar with the benefits and needs of our patients, firsthand. Among our outreach efforts in 2025 to improve on those needs:
We raised funds and awareness in the fight against prostate cancer.
In October 2025, several members of the MidLantic Urology team laced up with a few hundred of our neighbors for the annual ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk. The event, which included a kids’ dash, a one-mile walk, and a 5K run or walk, raised money toward prostate cancer awareness and research. With 11,740 men diagnosed with prostate cancer in Pennsylvania alone this year, it was an effort worth the footwork.
We added webinars and educational newsletters to our resource library.
Our physicians host free educational webinars each year to reach patients who might be shy or curious about seeing a doctor. In 2025, we added online seminars that covered a variety of urologic conditions, and we offer these interactive webinars after office hours, to make them more accessible. They remain available for replay so patients who missed them can view them when they have time.
We also work hard to provide patient educational newsletters throughout the year, featuring updated urologic information, important health tips and reminders, and links to more information about particular conditions or treatment options. We do this as an added benefit to our patients, who remain our top priority every day. Tune into all of our webinars or read up on past newsletters.
How Our Priorities Will Pay Off in 2026
We invested in these 2025 accomplishments strategically, knowing they will contribute to advancing future care for our patients. In 2026, we expect to provide greater access to care through our added locations, latest equipment, and continued research.
We thank you for trusting us with your care, and wish you good health in 2026.
