Alan earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hofstra University, then stayed there to earn two master's degrees: Master of Health Administration and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.

His previous work experience took place at Essen Healthcare as an ENT & Allergy physician assistant in Bronx, New York, and at American Family Urgent Care in Long Island, New York. He has worked in the following settings:

• Surgery
• OB/GYN
• Psychiatry

Alan holds a license from the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine and is certified with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
