Albert DeNittis, M.D., M.S.
Education and Background
Dr. DeNittis comes to us from Main Line Health. He served for 22 years as chief of Radiation Oncology at Lankenau Medical Center. He received his medical doctorate from Rutgers/Robert Johnson Medical School. This was preceded by a master’s degree in Developmental and Molecular Biology also at Rutgers. He then completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania.
During his tenure at Mainline Health, Dr. DeNittis has treated thousands of patients. He specializes in numerous radiation techniques including intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, as well as stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). He was part of a multidisciplinary team treating lung cancer patients. This team was part of a lung tumor nodule program detecting early-stage lung cancers and treating them using SBRT. He was also part of the nationally accredited program for rectal cancer (NAPRC) which is was awarded a Designation of Excellence to treat these patients.
As well as his clinical experience, Dr. DeNittis served as principal investigator (PI) for clinical research for Mainline Health System where he earned a full professorship. He has published over 50 peer reviewed articles and has had over 100 national presentations. As a practicing radiation oncologist Dr. DeNittis has served on many national committees including the anorectal task force at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). He initiated and published a national clinical trial evaluating SBRT in prostate cancer patients through clinicaltrials.gov. He is also part of NRG oncology, a national organization develpoing new protocols, where he served on several committees and was a lead accruer of patients.
Dr. DeNittis also was awarded several grants which has funded institutional research.
Dr. DeNittis is currently serving as head of development and as clinical lead at Midlantic/Solaris oncology in Bala Cynwyd. As part of MidLantic Urology/Solaris, he feels the team is on the cutting edge of future cancer treatments, and is looking forward to having a meaningful impact on patient care and changing the practice of oncology.
In his free time, Dr. DeNittis loves spending time with family. He has a love for travel, the Philadelphia Eagles, and spending time at his house at Longport, New Jersey.
