Cara O’Brien, M.D.
Education and Background
Dr. O’Brien earned her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Virginia, and two master’s degrees in biomedical sciences and dietetics from Eastern Virginia Medical School. There she also earned her medical degree. Dr. O’Brien completed a general surgery internship and urologic surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania.
She has specialty training in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, and has a special interest in female pelvic medicine, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary continence and restoration of sexual function. Dr. O’Brien is a patient advocate, emphasizing education and individualized treatment plans tailored specifically to the needs of each patient.
